The injection of more dynamism in the sector of Defence and State Security was the reason for H. E. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue to travel to the continental part of the country on 2nd October, in order to witness some activities of the Okong Oyeck Battalion.
To oversee the adequate functioning of the national Military Corps in one of the main priorities occupying the working agenda of the Equatoguinean Vice-President. For that reason, H. E. Teodoro Nguema Obiang left Malabo for the province of Kie-Ntem, to see first hand the activities of the military corps which are being carried out in the continental part of the country.
The first stop was to visit the Mobilisation Force battalion, which is located in the urban district of Okong-Oyeck, Ebebiyin, where Nguema Obiang Mangue, together with other military authorities, oversaw the exercises, consisting in the recapture of a barracks in enemy hands.
During the visit, the head of national Defence instructed the military of the need to develop the exercises with complete normality.
This trip by the Vice-President comes within the framework programme designed this year by the government bodies for Defence and Security, in order to train, upgrade, and strengthen the security of the country. Visits to other battalions are planned for the rest of the week.
It is the fifth time this year that the Vice-President of the Republic has held meetings with military personnel.
