To mark the celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, patron of the Salesians, the new Bishop of the Diocese of Ebebiyin, Miguel Angel Nguema, said a mass of thanksgiving and petition for the seven gifts on Sunday 28th May, in the Parish of the Salesian Fathers, in Bata.
The Eucharistic ceremony began with a procession of the statue of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, followed by religious declarations by a group of parishioners from the neighbouring Republic of Cameroon, who attended the feast to congratulate the new Bishop of Ebebiyin, who as a priest had worked as Provincial Father of the Salesian Congregation for Central Africa.
Before the Gospel reading, Miguel Angel Nguema expressed words of gratitude to the Salesian Fathers for the invitation to participate in this celebration, while declaring his satisfaction for the opportunity to return to the place which saw him develop as a priest and member of the Salesian Congregation.
At the end of the service, the faithful congregation offered various gifts, and the bishop concluded the mass with a priestly blessing of the crowd.
