The President of Cameroon, H.E. Paul Biya, has sent a message to H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo for the “successful” organization of the championship.
In his message, the Head of State of Cameroon, expressed his satisfaction regarding the extraordinary organization of the 30th edition of the African Cup of Nations (CAN), which has been played in Equatorial Guinea from January 17 to February 8.
-“I am pleased to send my warmest and sincerest congratulations on the successful organization by your country, of the 30th edition of the CAN,” says the text sent by Biya, who also recognizes that “under the leadership and direction of Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, Equatorial Guinea has successfully overcome the challenge of preparing and organizing the CAN, in a short period of time and in a particular context. This is an opportunity to thank the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea once again, who in order to help the image and honor of Africa, did not hesitate to accept the tournament, under the conditions we all know.”
Biya says goodbye with the same words he spoke when he personally attended the ceremony of the draw prior to the championship, on December 3, in Malabo: “Those who give do not remember, but those who receive should never forget.”
His message ends saying that “the CAF will never forget the act of solidarity, the courage of President Obiang Nguema, and the demonstration of his commitment to the development of Africa and its youth.”
