On February 12th, the Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea to the EU, Carmelo Nvono Nca, received at his official residence Mr. Daniel Calleja Crespo, Director General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs from the European Commission.
The meeting, which was also attended by the Embassy’s First Secretary, Mr. Luis Edu Enguru Alene, took place during a cordial lunch. It was held in order to review the new role of the EU executive body, now headed by Mr. Jean-Claude Juncker, with a special focus on the business sector.
Mr. Calleja made it clear that the European Commission is committed to partner up with countries that have a huge potential, such as Equatorial Guinea. He also underlined the positive image that the country enjoys amongst the institutions of the European capital.
Finally, he mentioned the extraordinary results achieved after H.E. President Obiang’s visit to Brussels in April 2014, and he congratulated the Equatoguinean people and Government for their fantastic organization of the 2015 African Cup, which was impeccable in this country.
