The Ambassadors’ Hall of the People’s Palace of Malabo held on Tuesday, April 14, before H.E. the President of the Republic, Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, the swearing-in ceremony of the new officers responsible for the Executive, that from this moment on are responsible of promoting Government programs of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, which have been recently appointed by the Presidency Decrees numbers 21, 22, 23 and 24/2015, dated April 13.
It dealt with the Prime Minister of the Government for Administrative Coordination, Vicente Ehate Tomi; Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene, who has retained his post as Deputy Prime Minister of the Government, in for the Political Sector and Democracy and Minister of Internal Affairs and Local Corporations; Francisco Pascual Obama Asue was promoted to the rank of Second Deputy Prime Minister, for Social Affairs, and Alfonso Nsue Mokuy, who has also been confirmed as Third Deputy Prime Minister for Human Rights. To all of them, the Head of State and Government announced that there has been remodeling of the Executive, to give it a more dynamic nature with this new team that was just formed.
With the attendance of the Vice Presidents of the Republic, the Head of Presidential Affairs, Ignacio Milam Tang, and the Head of Defense and State Security, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo appealed to the four members of the Government in order to control the weaknesses identified in the previous team and for there to be harmony, understanding and solidarity among them.
With regard to the current economic downturn, the Head of State and Government said that the Prime Minister and the three Deputy Prime Ministers should drive the cuts adopted at the last Council of Ministers; demand there be an increase in revenues to the treasury; fight corruption and ensure compliance with the programs established by the Executive in view of Horizon 2020.
In order to predict the success to the new team, which from now on will lead the Government, and from which H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo has asked to be dynamic, the President also stressed that they must ensure that the decisions taken at the National Political Dialogue held in the country last November are carried out.
This event of swearing in of offices was attended by the Senate President Teresa Efua Asangono; the President of the Constitutional Court, Salvador Ondo Nkum; the Vice President of the lower House, Santiago Nsue Beya; the Secretary General of the PDGE, Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, and counselors of the Presidency of the Republic.
