The President of the Republic, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, as Captain General, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and State Security, traveled on April 1st to the district of Nsok Nsomo, in order to hold a meeting with the contingent of military units currently stationed in that district seat, belonging to the provincial jurisdiction of Kie-Ntem.
The Second Vice President of the Republic for National Defense and State Security, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue; the Vice Ministers of departments of Defense and State Security, Daniel Ncogo Ncogo Eye and Juan Ndong Nguema, respectively, and certain generals of the army received the Head of State of Equatorial Guinea upon his arrival at the installations of the Military Academy of the City of a Thousand Hills.
The working session of the first day of April is the continuation of contacts initiated by the President of the Republic in mid-March with the military sector based in Bioko Island.
The aim is to reinforce the spirits of the army, and draw attention to the need that, at the present time characterized by threats of terrorism, mercenaries and incitements prompted by certain powers that seek to destabilize States with vested and unacknowledged interests, the military must be ready and prepared to counter any contingency that befalls the detriment of peace, stability and national sovereignty.
Also on that day, the highest Equatorial Guinean leader held a working session of the same nature with the group of Special Forces stationed at the Military Academy of Okoete, in the district of Mongomo.
