The opening of the First Session of the Bicameral Parliament had some guests of honor: the men of the National Nzalang. The players and coaches received the congratulations and encouragement of the representatives of the people of Equatorial Guinea, who showed their admiration and respect for what they are doing in this CAN 2015.
The first to address the players was the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Gaudencio Mohaba Mesu, who said that where there is a will, there is a way, and defined them as heroes. “Thank you for raising the prestige of the people of Equatorial Guinea. You are the pride of the nation, because you do not back down from any rival.”
The players, standing up, received the unanimous applause of all present, which gave them a heartfelt ovation for the effort and the work they have done to reach the semifinals of the African Cup of Nations.
The President of the Republic also spoke to the national team, who had visited them twice to give their support before the matches against Gabon and Tunisia. “I congratulate the Nzalang for their achievements and encourage them to redouble their efforts to achieve the ultimate goal, which is to obtain the Cup. Now you are national heroes.”
The Head of State recalled the two messages that he had transmitted to them previously. First when he spoke of David and Goliath (the small can overcome that which seems larger) and then when he told them “where there is a will there is a way, and if you will it, you can keep winning matches.”
Finally, he gave them a message applauded by all those present. “We’ve won battles, but we must win the war and get the Cup of the CAN 2015.”
