The Minister of Commerce receives the delegation from the Certification Institute of CPLP

The Minister of Commerce, Antonio Pedro Oliveira Boropu, met in his office at the ministerial headquarters with the delegation of the Certification Institute of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), headed by its president, Francisco Xavier Martins, and integrated by the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Bioko, Gregorio Boho Camo and the Secretary General of the institution, Gabriel Saukin Baulin.

The objective of the meeting was the signing of the Constituent Assembly that will supervise the operation of the Certification Institute of CPLP in Equatorial Guinea.

Antonio Pedro Oliveira Boropu, in his words, has emphasized that the Government has the will to make the operation of the Certification Institute of CPLP a reality, so that national products can have value in the international market.

– ” We trust in the experience of the CPLP Institute and have the doors open in the Ministry of Commerce, ” said the head of the department.

Since April 2016, the Government together with the chambers of commerce and the CPLP Business Confederation signed an agreement for the materialization and start-up of the institute to control the import and export products, and the national consumption of quality, as remembered the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Bioko.

The Minister of Commerce will be in charge of signing the installation document of the institute, whose process is already being completed, both in the Continental Region and on the island of Bioko.

For his part, Francisco Xavier Martins has reported on the basis of the operation of the institute, which will consist of the installation of laboratories in Malabo and Bata, which will control not only the quality of imported products, but also certify products to export outside of the country and at the level of the CEMAC subregion.

Control the products that enter the national markets and, on the other hand, the certification of the highest value of Equatorial Guinea’s products, specifically, banana, papaya, mango and all agricultural products, will facilitate exports to the whole world, which It will favor the economy of our country.

The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Bioko has expressed his satisfaction for this achievement that will contribute to the creation of jobs and the economy of Equatorial Guinea: ” We are extremely grateful, first to the President of the Republic, HE Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and to the Government, for making this agreement a reality. Finally, this certification institute will be operational.
