The Pharaohs of Egypt were victorious over the national team by 2-0, on March 26, in a friendly match played in the Petro Sport Stadium in Cairo. The Nzalang reached the final minutes with a tie, but then the Egyptian players scored in the goal defended by Aitor Embela.
After three days of preparation for the match in Madrid, the National Nzalang played the first friendly match of the tour against the Pharaohs of Egypt, where Hector Cuper debuted as coach.
The national team started the game with Aitor Embela, Randy, Evuy, Igor, Sipo, Kike, Zarandona, Belima, James, Balboa and Iban, and during the same Mbele, Fabiani, Josete, Ganet and Cristian also had the opportunity to play. The Egyptian team had the lineup of Sherif Ekramy, Ahmed Hegazi, Rami Rabia, Hussein Al Sayed, Ahmed El Mohamady, Hazem Emam, Ibrahim Salah, Mohamed El Nenny, Trezeguet and Mad Moteab.
The National Nzalang managed to control the Pharaohs of Egypt and at minute 84 had the chance to win the game, when a great pass from Balboa was finished off by Bosio and hit the crossbar, but two minutes later it was Morsi who managed to get past the goalkeeper Embela, to finish off a pass from Saleh Gomaa. And in injury time, Trezeguet scored the second goal, ending the match.
It was a good match by the national team, in which Esteban Becker has seen new players in action and in which Josete’s debut stands out, playing his first game in the senior team at just sixteen years of age.
Now the Nzalang will travel to Abidjan (Ivory Coast), where on March 29 it will face the Ivorian Elephants at the Felix Opue Boigne Stadium. A new opportunity to check the competitive level of the team of Esteban Becker, in which the coach will have the opportunity to try other game alternatives in view of the next official matches of the national team.
