The President closes the First Ordinary Sessions of the National Parliament corresponding to 2015

H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo has closed on June 10, in the Ngolo International Conference Center of the city of Bata, the First Ordinary Sessions of the National Bicameral Parliament, corresponding to this year 2015. We attach the speech given by the President of the Senate, Teresa Efua Asangono.

The act had the presence of the First Vice President for Presidential Affairs, Ignacio Milam Tang; the President of the Senate, Teresa Efua Asangono; the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Gaudencio Mohaba Mesu; the new President of the Supreme Court of Justice, Juan Carlos Ondo Angue and that of the Constitutional Court, Salvador Ondo Nkum; the Prime Minister of the Government for Administrative Coordination, Vicente Ehate Tomi; the leaders and representatives of the different political groups; the Secretary General of the PDGE (Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea), Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro and the Ombudsman, Marcelino Nguema Onguene, among others.

After the opening of this First Period of Ordinary Parliamentary Sessions of the high and low chambers, the presentation of the reports was carried out by the President of the Chamber of Deputies, who thanked the Head of State for his presence in the session. For her part, the President of the Senate asked for a minute of silence for the memory of the Senator Carlos Abaga Ayi Ngono, recently deceased.

Next came the speech by the President of the Republic, which served to close the event. H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo expressed his congratulations for the good culmination of this first period, which was carried out in an atmosphere of national peace and harmony. He also highlighted the value of these two parliamentary institutions, which have the mission to watch over the compliance with the objectives marked by the people of Equatorial Guinea.
