The Secretary of State of Francophonie, in an audience with the President

H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo received Annick Girandin, Secretary of State of France for Development and Francophonie, on Monday, February 9 in the African Palace of Bata.

The visit is a response to an interview that the French President, H.E. François Hollande and H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo held last September in New York (United States), during the General Assembly of the United Nations, and responds to the desire to reinforce ties between the two governments.

For this reason, the Secretary of State and the President have spoken on subjects related to economic development, education, the presence of the French companies in Equatorial Guinea and the activities of the International Organization of Francophonie, to which our country belongs.

Prior to her trip to Bata, Annick Girandin visited Guinea Conakry, on a mission to support the fight against the Ebola virus.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Agapito Mba Mokuy and the Ambassadors of France in Equatorial Guinea and of our nation in Paris, François Barateau and Miguel Oyono Ndong Mifumu, respectively, were present in this audience.
