The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Offers Brunch to the Equatorial Guinean Delegation

On 20th September, the President of the Republic, S. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, acknowledged and valued the support that the American companies have given the government to carry out the Horizon 2020 national development programme.

This took place during the working brunch that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce organised for the Equatorial Guinean delegation during their stay in New York.

Shell, Noble Energy, Exxon Mobil are among the ten multinationals that headed the meeting directed by the Executive Vice President of the business institution, Myron Brillant.

The business meeting allowed the parties to talk about the investment of these American companies in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.

Myron Brillant had the honour of the introductory words, which he used to focus on the valuation of the potential market of investments that our country offers to international entrepreneurs.

In his reflections, S. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo talked about the Horizon 2020 programme, national economic diversification, and training of human resources.

Moments later, the nation’s Head of State attended a meeting with the African Union regarding the demographic dividend and the commitment for action.

The AU meeting was organised by S. E. Alpha Conde – the president of this continental organisation and the Head of State for Guinea Conakry.

Under the instruction of leveraging this demographic dividend through youth investment, the AU’s Heads of State met in the headquarters of the institution.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, also attended this meeting in which he gave a speech.

Since his arrival on 17th September, and in order to participate in the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, S. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo is attending all meetings where the interests of the African Continent take priority.
