The work of the African First Ladies meeting in New York entered its third consecutive day on Wednesday 26th September at the Hotel Sofitel, to cover matters related to breast and cervical cancer in Africa.
On Wednesday they spoke about the policies of prevention, early diagnosis and treatment for breast and cervical cancer at the meeting which included the presence of the President of the republic of Rwanda, H. E. Paul Kagame.
The ceremony was opened by the First Lady of Burkina Faso, Adjoavi Sika Kabore, President of the Organisation of African First Ladies against AIDS (OPDAS), who in her speech underlined the fact that the fight against these diseases has moved forward thanks to the leadership of African First Ladies.
Despite that, the African First Ladies are continuing to seek strategies to improve results in matters of the fight against cancer on our continent, in order to mobilise resources and optimise public and private investment.
