On 16th April, the Prime Minister of the Government, Charged with Administrative Coordination, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, oversaw the handover of office between the outgoing Minister for the Interior and Local Corporations, Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene, and the incoming, Faustino Ndong Esono Eyang.

In the presence of members of the Government from the ministry, senior officials and the body of official staff, the two ministers, outgoing and incoming, having concluded the reading and signing of the acts, gave their respective speeches, thanking the Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, for the trust placed in them.

All those present stood to applaud the outgoing Minister, Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene, for his long service in the department, described by Obama Asue as a department that oversees the peace, order and security of the country.

The words of advice from the Prime Minister, directed at the incoming Interior chief, and the others in attendance, constituted the final phase of the ceremony.
