Police in the province of Limpopo in northeastern South Africa have arrested to men on suspicion of selling human body parts and found the head of a women in the vehicle they were in.
Two male suspects have been arrested after a woman’s head was found wrapped with a newspaper on Sunday, the police said in this provincial capital.
Limpopo Police Spokesperson Colonel Ronel Otto said the police received a tip-off about suspects selling human parts.
“They followed up the information and stopped the suspects’ vehicle in Market Street close to the taxi rank. After searching the vehicle they found the head of a woman wrapped in newspapers.”
Otto added that the identity of the woman was not known yet. The two suspects have been taken in for further questioning.
Otto said charges were still being formulated.
