The President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, and his counterpart from Guinea Bissau, H. E. Jose Mario Vaz, signed various cooperation agreements on Friday 7th December at the Leaders’ Club in Mongomo, in the presence of the first ladies, H. E. Constancia Mangue de Obiang and H. E. Maria Luisa Vaz, and members of their respective official delegations.
The agreements cover Defence, Education, Higher Education and Sport; Maritime fishing; and Agreement on the reciprocal exemption for visas for holders of diplomatic, official and service passports; a Memorandum of Understanding regarding the negotiation of a bilateral agreement on air services, and another between the Equatorial Guinea Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Guinea Bissau Ministry for Foreign Business, International Cooperation and Communities.
Finally, they signed the internal regulations for a mixed cooperation commission between the two Governments and a joint communique.
After signing these agreements, the two African leaders declared before the press the importance of the conventions signed, and their desire to continue to further strengthen the excellent relations between the two peoples.
