H. E. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue arrived in Mongomeyen just one day prior to the start of the official programme of activities to mark this historic date which has been celebrated in the country since 1979.

The celebration of the Anniversary of the Freedom Coup is also a significant unprecedented moment in the history of Equatorial Guinea, as according to various analysts, it is the only State with Hispanic links in Sub-Saharan Africa which has made significant progress in all sectors.
