On 25th December, hundreds of girls and boys received their traditional gifts from the Father Christmas of Equatorial Guinea, the Vice-President of the Republic, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, in a huge event which took place in the capital, Malabo.
The Honorary President of the Youth Federation and Sons of Obiang, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, has been touring the land handing out gifts to infants over the Christmas period for sixteen years.
On arrival at the esplanade of the cathedral, he was received with numerous messages of gratitude read by a a girl of just six years old, representing the children of the country.
Altruist and charismatic since his childhood, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue shows solidarity every year with thousands of families, by handing out gifts to children from the various ethnic backgrounds. As usual, he was supported by prominent members of the Youth Federation and Sons of Obiang Association, represented by its general coordinator, JesA�s Maria Obiang Obiang.
The Vice-President, given the name Father Christmas by thousands of children, began the distribution of thousands of toys to the infant population in Bata.
This humanitarian gesture has been applauded on numerous occasions by the hundreds of Equatoguinean citizens, and even in other African countries, as is the case of Ivory Coast, a nation which also received gifts from the Vice-president in December 2015.
