Vice-President holds audience with new US Ambassador

On Tuesday 23rd July, the Vice-President of the Republic, Charged with national Defence and State Security, H. E. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, welcomed the new United States of America Ambassador to Equatorial Guinea, Susan Stevenson. At the meeting, the Vice-President wished her success in her new mission in our country.

The meeting between the two dignitaries took place at the People’s Palace in Malabo, and the audience served to secure an improvement in relations between the two countries, in matters of the Economy, Security and Defence.

Furthermore, H. E. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue declared that the Equatoguinean Government granted unique preference to relations with the United States, as the role of the North American giant was key to the national economy.

Stevenson presented her credentials before the Equatoguinean Head of State in April. Despite the little time spent in the country, the new head of North American diplomacy described as excellent the relations of friendship and cooperation uniting Malabo and Washington.
