The Vice-President of the Republic, Head of National Defence and State Security, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, arrived at Sierra Leone on 22nd November for an official visit on behalf of the Head of State.
Nguema Obiang Mangue carried a message that the President of the Republic, S.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, sent to his counterpart, S.E. Julius Maada Bio. Although its content has not been revealed to the press, it could concern the strengthening of bilateral relations between Malabo and Freetown with the aim of expanding their cooperation.
Upon his arrival at Freetown International Airport, Nguema Obiang Mangue was received by his counterpart, Mohamed Juldhe Jalloh.
Having inspected the troops, the two Vice-Presidents shared opinions on the state of their bilateral relations. Immediately after, Nguema Obiang Mangue was driven to the Presidential Palace to deliver the message to S.E. Julius Maada Bio from the Equatorial Guinean Head of State.
In view of the fact that both governments have signed agreements in the petroleum industry and also wish to cooperate in the field of civil aviation, this visit could serve as the time to take stock of their cooperation and adopt other strategies, in order to extend their cooperation to other sectors.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Simeon Oyono Esono, accompanied the Vice-President of the Republic.
