Taking advantage of the last days of his stay in the Continental Region, the President of the Republic, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, resumed his visit to some of the works carried out in the area, to know their progress and status of implementation.
One of the visits was made to the residence for high ecclesiastical personalities behind the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Mongomo, which is currently under construction. The presidential couple also went by the city stadium where the African Cup of Nations was played (CAN 2015), and visited the construction of the new Municipal Market of Mongomo, in the Village Council of Mokom Esangui. The First Lady suggested modifying some details of that market, which will be opened and delivered to the Government within a few days, as was assured by the heads of the company in charge of the work.
On Holy Thursday (April 2) and Saturday, April 4, the President also visited the farm of Asok, in the district of Mongomo, dedicated to the production of vegetables and poultry products, and which has been operating for six years. On the same day, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo also reviewed the construction, remodeling and asphalting of several sections of roads located in Nsok-Mbatung; the Village Council of Mofub-Oyak; Acurenam, Akonibe and Mongomo, in the provinces of Wele-Nzas and Centro Sur.
On Saturday, accompanied by the Vice President of the National Office of Planning, Control and Monitoring of Projects (GE Projects), Alejandro Micha Nsue, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo travelled to the new Presidential Library Museum of Mongomo to see first-hand the state of this work. After touring the installations of the facilities, the President directed that the project be completed (it was started in 2009) and proceed to its final delivery.
In all the places visited, the Head of State, in addition to receiving information on the status of the works and the implementation period, asked about the problems that may impede the implementation of these projects, which the Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea carried out for the recovery and modernization of all the cities nationwide.
