The President of the Council of the Republic, Ignacio Milam Tang, accompanied by the Vice-President from the same body, Vicente Ehate Tomi, visited the renovation work at the new headquarters for the institution, in order to see the degree of progress, in accordance with the instructions given during their last visit in April 2019.
The emblematic building of the old BEAC bank, located in Avenida de la Independencia in Malabo, is being renovated by the construction company Abib Medsud, and wholly financed by the Government of Equatorial Guinea.
At the site, Ignacio Milam Tang and Vicente Ehate Tomi were joined by the Director General of the constructor, Youssef Ahmad, who revealed to the visitors that the work was in its final phase of furnishing and installing the IT equipment, and he provided detailed information during the tour of all the areas making up the institution.
During the visit, which was attended by chiefs from the institution office, they witnessed significant progress in the completion of the work, and concluded with instructions from the President of the high body to the director of the company, with respect to meeting the deadlines in the contract for the end of the work and hand-over to the Government, expected in March this year.
