WORK ON STUDY OF DRAFT MERCHANT NAVY LAW CONTINUES

There continue to be intense debates during the study of the Draft Merchant navy Law in the Senate by the Permanent Commission on Infrastructures Transport and new Technologies overseen by the Senator Demetrio Elo Ndong Nsefumu.

The members making up the commission looked at the article regulating the nature and issue of bills of lading obligations delivery contents and effects of the issue and the obligation to sign the delivery of merchandise to the legitimate bearer and the nature of the executive title covered in chapter five on the maritime bill of lading and waybills.

The deliberations which took place at the working session under the moderation of the President of the Senate Teresa Efua Asangono allowed the legislators to address the contents from article 430 to 585 outlining the rights and obligations of passengers the classification and registration of luggage the obligatory insurance for passenger vessels the nature of the naval management contract obligations of the naval manager and extra-contractual joint and several liability.
