On Wednesday 28th March, at the headquarters of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, the second meeting for the monitoring mechanism of the programme of cooperation between the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the People’s Republic of China took place. Following the meeting, the Ambassador donated IT material to the ministry.
At the meeting, the Chinese party was represented by the Ambassador, Chen Guoyou, accompanied by embassy officials and the Economic and Commercial Adviser.
Matias Nguema Mba, General Secretary fro Foreign Affairs, represented the ministry, accompanied by the general directors for Asia, Consular Affairs, International Cooperation, and the Inspector of Services.
The General Secretary praised the bilateral cooperation, It is one of the most fruitful of cooperations that Equatorial Guinea has. In fact, this monitoring mechanism for the cooperation programme with China is unique, we have nothing like this with any other country, and our cooperation with China is very important”.
The aim of the meeting was to review important points regarding cooperation, and also the deficiencies, so that they may be eliminated. Matias Nguema Mba also praised the “One thousand talents” training programme, which is being carried out by the People’s Republic of China, The “One Thousand talents” programme is important, and helps to train our officials”.
Chen Guoyou summarised the achievements of the upcoming China-Africa Summit to promote cooperation, which will be attended by the Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. The Ambassador also pointed out the achievements accomplished during the official visit by the Vice-President of the Republic, Charged with Security and National Defence, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue.
Furthermore, he reported that the second cooperation meeting had made huge progress and allowed them to cover various topics of common interest.
