Nakambe: National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation Launched with Fervor

Nakambe: The second phase of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation (JEPPC) was launched this Thursday in Tenkodogo, capital of the Center-East region, under a light rain and in an atmosphere of fervor. The national theme chosen is: “For order and discipline, I commit myself!” For two weeks, from October 2 to 16, multiple civic and educational activities will take place in the provinces of Boulgou, Koulpelogo, and Kouritenga.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening ceremony was marked by a flag-raising ceremony and the reading of a message from the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore, to the governorate of Tenkodogo, in the presence of the constituted bodies of the Nakambe region. In his address, the President of Faso praised “the patriotic spirit that is slowly but surely awakening in every Burkinabe” and called on citizens to adopt discipline, probity, and integrity in the management of public property.

The message was then translated into several national languages, before the performance of the Ditanye in Moore, taken up in chorus by the participants. Following this, conferences were opened at the University of Tenkodogo on the central theme and its variations: the ideology of the Democratic and Popular Revolution, the consolidation of the Confederation of Sahel States (AES), and presidential reforms in favor of youth empowerment.

Alongside these activities, the Regional Directorate of Youth and Sports launched a digital awareness campaign for young people on order and discipline. The wearing of traditional attire in public services, as well as radio and television broadcasts in national languages, were also among the activities on this first day.

The Regional Director of Youth and Employment, Sibiri Felix Zoungrana, and his counterpart for Human Rights, detailed the upcoming activities: training on civics and patriotism, conferences on economic and fiscal civics, sanitation days, school competitions, “voluntary sweep” operations, not forgetting the prize-giving in Garango for the winners of the civics competition organized last April.

The Governor of the Nakambe region, Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, stressed the need to “support local initiatives and consume products made by women and young people,” echoing the instructions given by the Head of State during his visit on March 8, 2024. “Prepare yourselves technically and financially to support these women. The Head of State has been clear: their products must be valued,” he insisted.

The 2025 JEPPC will end on October 16 in Tenkodogo with a large popular cross-country race and an aerobics session at the Place de la Nation, followed by a citizens’ gathering around the values of discipline, integrity, and patriotism.
