Banfora: The Integrated Development Program of the Samend©ni Valley (PDIS) commenced a training workshop on Wednesday in Banfora, targeting special delegations from several municipalities to enhance their land management skills in the public utility zone of the project.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the two-day workshop brings together participants from PDIS, the governorate of Bobo-Dioulasso, and municipalities including Bama, Karangasso-Sambla, Kourouma, Samorogouan, Banzon, Satiri, Bondokuy, Pad©ma, and Solenzo. The aim is to strengthen their understanding of legislative texts governing land in rural areas.
Fouss©ni Traor©, a research officer representing the Secretary General of the Hauts-Bassins region, and Alfred Consegre, representing the Coordinator of PDIS, chaired the opening ceremony. Traor© emphasized that the session is designed to equip field actors with tools and mechanisms tailored to land management within the specific context of PDIS intervention.
Participants will focus on familiarizing themselves with Law No. 034-2009, which pertains to rural land tenure, and Law No. 009-2018, concerning expropriation for public utility. The initiative receives financial backing from the National Bureau of Major Projects (BNGP), a partner in the Integrated Development Program of the Samend©ni Valley.
