Producers Satisfied with Rice Harvest in Yaho Commune

Bale: Rice harvesting is the focus of agricultural work in the commune of Yaho, a region well-suited to rice production. This crop is one of the main food crops in the area, after sorghum and maize. AIB visited the region on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Rice farmers are in the midst of harvesting in the lowlands of the Yaho commune. Across vast areas, the rice has ripened well, and farmers, working in families or groups of cooperative producers, are currently engaged in harvesting to secure their crops.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the observation in a low-lying area in the village of Bondo shows that producers are delighted with the yields obtained this year. Producer Luc Zongo attributes the good harvests to the producers’ commitment to participating in the agricultural offensive, as well as the support from development projects and programs, and the assistance of agricultural technical agents.

However, farmers lament the lack of modern tools, particularly combine harvesters, to facilitate harvesting. They are calling on the authorities to help them with machines to increase their business.
