Protection of Public Property and Anti-Corruption Efforts Launched in Reo

Ouagadougou: The town hall of Reo, capital of the province of Sanguie, hosted on Thursday the solemn ceremony of raising the colors, marking the launch of the second phase of the national days of patriotic commitment and citizen participation, noted the AIB. Chaired by the High Commissioner of Sanguie, Talari Germaine Ouoba, the ceremony was attended by administrative, military, paramilitary, customary and religious authorities, as well as a strong mobilization of the population of Reo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner delivered a message from the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore. The latter praised the patriotic spirit that is gradually awakening among the Burkinabe and urged everyone to be more disciplined and honest in the management of public property. “A public asset destroyed means one less service for the people,” he recalled, before calling for the fight against corruption, racketeering, and all forms of illicit enrichment.

For this phase, the President of Faso emphasized two priorities: the protection of public property and the fight against corruption. He called on citizens to be models of integrity and responsibility in their neighborhoods, services, and administrations. The prefect, president of the special delegation of the commune of Reo, Sindi Issaka Zagre, thanked the population for its mobilization and encouraged it to promote local consumption and to appropriate the values advocated by patriotic commitment.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, the High Commissioner also sent her best wishes for success to students and teachers for the 2025-2026 school year, while calling on parents and educators to support children in their education. The ceremony ended with words of congratulations to the province’s agricultural producers during this harvest period, and wishes for health and prosperity for the population.
