Sanguie High Commissioner Emphasizes Education Quality at School Year Launch


Ouagadougou: The village of Pouni-Nord, in the commune of Didyr, hosted the official ceremony launching the 2025-2026 school year for the province of Sanguie on Wednesday, where the High Commissioner urged stakeholders to maintain and strengthen the quality of education in the province of Sanguie, AIB noted.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was chaired by the provincial High Commissioner, Talari Germaine Ouoba, under the theme of mobilization, unity, and resilience in the face of security challenges. The ceremony began with the raising of the national colors, reaffirming the commitment to patriotic values.



The representative of the traditional chief welcomed the choice of Pouni-Nord and encouraged students to be disciplined and serious, viewing education as a “springboard for training the elites of tomorrow.” He also acknowledged the Defense and Security Forces for their dedication, emphasizing that “without unity, there is no progress possible.”



Authorities stressed the importance of education and the commitment of those involved. The prefect of Didyr, Abdoulaye Yaogo, expressed gratitude to the teaching staff for their sacrifices and urged students to persevere. He also acknowledged the efforts of the Defense and Security Forces and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland in securing the region.



The Minister of Basic Education’s message, delivered by the Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education of Sanguie, Bapian Yo, honored teachers and outlined key orientations for the year. These include the gradual introduction of English in primary education, transforming schools into bilingual institutions, and strengthening educational governance.



Rasmata GrSce Guingane, the provincial director of secondary education in Sanguie, highlighted education as a “pillar of the People’s Democratic Revolution,” essential for developing informed and patriotic citizens. High Commissioner Ouoba praised the collective mobilization and urged education stakeholders to enhance their efforts for the success of the school year.



The day included a meeting with teachers, where Ms. Ouoba commended their “great performances” and provided practical advice to maintain and improve education quality in the province.



The event concluded with a sense of unity and gratitude, with participants reaffirming their commitment to resilient and high-performing schools for the nation’s future.
