Huawei Cloud Summit in Bangkok: Driving the Leapfrog Growth of the Digital Economy with Cloud Native

BANGKOK, Sept. 19, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — HUAWEI CONNECT 2022 kicked off in Bangkok on September 19. At the Huawei Cloud Summit themed “Inspire Innovation with Everything as a Service”, Zeng Xingyun, President of Huawei Cloud APAC, William Fang, Chief Product Officer of Huawei Cloud, and customers and partners delivered keynote speeches. During the event, Huawei Cloud released the Cloud Native 2.0 Architecture White Paper and launched Cloud Native Elite Club (CNEC) APAC together with Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). To accelerate the digital transformation in the Asia Pacific, Huawei Cloud proposed three initiatives: acting with strategic resolve, embracing cloud native, and cultivating digital talent.

Cloud Native Elite Club (CNEC) APAC launch ceremony

In his keynote speech, Mr. Zeng said that going cloud native is to think cloud native, act cloud native. Huawei, together with its customers and partners, will witness a leapfrog growth in digital transformation powered by cloud native in APAC. Adhering to the approach of “by local, for local”, Huawei Cloud will promote the digital industry of the Asia Pacific by strengthening investment in infrastructure, professional B2B services, partner ecosystem, developer services, and startup support.

Huawei Cloud has already set up 13 localized service centers in the Asia Pacific, with more than 1,000 certified engineers to provide tailored services. In addition, ecosystem development has been fruitful, with more than 2,500 local partners generating more than 50% of the revenue of Huawei Cloud. Huawei Cloud is also forging ahead with industry-government-academia collaboration in the Asia Pacific. Investment in the Huawei ASEAN Academy and the Seeds for the Future Program will be used to cultivate more than 1 million digital experts over the next five years.

As a cloud native pioneer, Huawei Cloud serves 80% of the 50 best Internet companies in China and more than 200 major Internet companies in the Asia Pacific. In Sarawak, Malaysia, Huawei Cloud, together with its partners, has built cloud native infrastructure to support the collaboration of more than 30 government departments in five fields, and provided more than 80 digital government and smart city services to ensure more efficient and better-informed decision-making. In Indonesia, Huawei Cloud has provided a unified data foundation to help CT Corp migrate its media, retail, and finance services to the cloud, enabling precise recommendations for 200 million Internet users. The cloud native technologies of Huawei Cloud have helped Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) in Thailand quickly roll out its digital loan service. Loan approval and issuance, which used to take one month of work, is now fully automated and can be completed in just five minutes.

William reaffirmed Huawei Cloud’s commitment to thinking and acting cloud native and adhering to its Everything-as-a-Service strategy. The ultimate goal is to offer full-stack cloud native capabilities to customers. The four pipelines and more than 10 products unveiled at this year’s HUAWEI CONNECT, such as CCE Turbo (the next-gen container engine) and UCS (a service for ubiquitous cloud native), will be rolled out in the Asia Pacific and go global. In the future, Huawei Cloud will go beyond to breathe new life into cloud native infrastructure, cloud native application development, and data-AI convergence. This summit also saw Huawei Cloud release the Cloud Native 2.0 Architecture White Paper, which looks to help customers evolve and advance towards the digital transformation of tomorrow.

To accelerate the digitalization of the Asia Pacific with cloud native, Huawei Cloud joined hands with CNCF and technology pioneers to launch CNEC APAC. CNEC has contributed to the popularization and maturity of cloud native technologies in China over the past two years. CNEC APAC will gather the greatest cloud native minds in the region and have them focus on the digital transformation of local enterprises. It is a platform for exchanging cloud native experiences so that more organizations can dive deeper into the forefront of cloud native technologies and better use cloud native. The exchange of ideas will create more opportunities for cloud native to empower industry innovations, breaking a new path for the digitalization in the Asia Pacific.

William said that Huawei Cloud will continue to innovate full-stack technologies to pioneer the cloud native field, enable industries through Infrastructure as a Service, Technology as a Service, and Expertise as a Service, and unleash digital productivity with Everything as a Service.

Head of State receives Cameroonian Deputy Minister for the Presidency

The President of the Republic, Head of State and Government, H .E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, granted an audience on Monday to the Thursday to the Cameroonian Deputy Minister for the Presidency, Charged with Defence, Joseph Betti Assomo.

Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon, as members of the Economic Community of Central African States located in the Gulf of Guinea, are discussing the adoption of common strategies for cross-border security.

This was the subject of discussions at the audience that His Excellency Obiang Nguema Mbasogo granted to Betti Assomo.

The Equatoguinean delegation was composed of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Simeon Oyono Esono Angue, the Deputy Minister for National Defence, Candido Ncogo Engono Nchama, and other authorities from the Ministry for Defence and the Equatorial Guinean Extraordinary Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Cameroon, Armando Cote Echuaca.

On the Cameroonian side, several generals and senior commanders of the Cameroonian Armed Forces and its accredited Ambassador in Malabo discussed the security issues between the two nations, in view of the threats from maritime piracy suffered by the countries of the Gulf of Guinea.

We were received by His Excellency Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, in order to talk about the instructions of his brother and counterpart, His Excellency Paul Biya, Chief of our Armed Forces. The audience comes within the framework of regular diplomatic talks on security matters between the two Heads of State.

His Excellency Paul Biya regularly receives special envoys in Yaounde from his counterpart, so it is right for us to come here to deliver this message on inter-communal problems.

That is why we are here this morning with our accredited Ambassador to Equatorial Guinea and leaders of our Armed Forces, led by the General Chief of Staff.

President Paul Biya currently holds the rotating chair of the CEEAC Conference of Heads of State and his emissary said that Cameroon had also been experiencing a particularly insecure situation in recent years. These same security problems are now international and cross-border, as they are all linked together, and we must take note of the geopolitical and economic challenges of the times.

That is why this audience aimed at reaching agreement took place and why the constant exchanges of special envoys sent by the two presidents are necessary and indispensable”, said Betti Assomo, who also declared that he had received instructions from His Excellency Obiang Nguema Mbasogo for His Excellency Paul Biya.

Security prevents COALIPGE-orchestrated attack in Malabo and Bata

The aim of the plan, orchestrated by the so-called Coalition of Leaders of the Illegal Opposition of Equatorial Guinea, COALIPGE, was to spread terror in Malabo and Bata, through actions that would attract the attention of the international community and, according to them, make them heroes.

The idea, planned for the 29th of this month, was, on the one hand, to form a group of twenty individuals who would carry out the simultaneous detonation of four petrol stations, two in each of the country’s main cities. And on the other, to attack members of the Government in their homes in cold blood, with the Prime Minister being the perfect target. They also planned to attack some embassies in Equatorial Guinea,

Since the appearance of social media in Equatorial Guinea, there have been audio messages urging violence and illegal demonstrations in the country, and insults and slander against public figures, including the Head of State.

That is one of the areas where which COALIPGE takes part, with members acting under pseudonyms. As is the case of Angüe Anguan, nicknamed Émuan Nkoa-Nguema, in Spanish, son of Nkogo Nguema.

The constant plots to confuse national and international public opinion about the supposedly low standard of living of Equatoguineans have not succeeded. They have therefore united as a bloc with the aim of creating a bloodier alternative strategy to serve their own interests. In that sense, COALIPGE and its allies have gone further, with a deeper operation aimed at destabilising the country.

Eighteen months ago, Equatorial Guinea buried more than a hundred children who died in the 7M tragedy in Bata; a pain that the country is still struggling to overcome. It is surprising, however, that Equatoguineans themselves are consciously planning to shed more blood.

But this time it has backfired. Equatoguinean intelligence intercepted the plan to create widespread chaos in the country. that would not only bring tears to the eyes of compatriots, but also slow down the Government’s development and economic recovery programme. For now there have been arrests in Bata and Malabo, while the investigation remains ongoing.

Final Senate plenary session in second legislature

The Senate Plenary met on Monday to give their impressions on the work carried out during the second legislature, and cordial, friendly relations they have maintained.

Congratulations and thanks were the predominant expressions heard during this final plenary session corresponding to the Second Ordinary Period of Parliamentary Sessions 2022, which marks the end of the second legislature of the Senate, created in 2011 within the framework of the Constitutional Reform and opened in 2013.

The senators, in addition to remembering their deceased colleagues with whom they would have liked to share this emotional, meaningful farewell marking an unforgettable situation, congratulated each other, stressing the harmony, respect and loyalty that have reigned among them when it was a question of moving legislative activities forward, in addition to showing solidarity for a specific or common cause, as in the cases of the fire that occurred in La Ronda street in Malabo, the 7M disaster in the city of Bata and the moral and economic support for the misfortunes of their colleagues.

Efua Asangono acknowledged the difficulties in the legislative exercise, pointing out that debates and consensus are the essence of Parliament.
