Former Ivorian president, Laurent Gbagbo, made his first official appearance last weekend after his party chose him as their candidate for the 2025 presidential elections. Laurent Gbagbo organized a rally at Bonoua, a town where he had his first political speech 34 years ago and also the town of his former wife, Simone Gbagbo. Since the International Criminal Court vindicated him or involvement in post elections violence of 2010-2011, Gbagbo want the Ivorian justice system to overturn a 20 year jail terms so that his name can be included in the electoral list. In March 2024, Koudou Laurent Gbagbo agreed to contest in the elections, hoping to end the 15 year rule of Alassane Ouattara. Source: Cameroon News Agency
