Cape town: The nominees for the African Energy Week (AEW) 2026 Awards have been announced, recognizing the companies, projects, and individuals driving innovation, investment, and growth across Africa's energy sector. Featuring 12 categories spanning the full energy value chain, the awards celebrate the achievements shaping the continent's energy future. Winners will be announced during the AEW 2026 Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, taking place on Tuesday, October 13, in Cape Town. The ceremony will bring together ministers, industry leaders, investors, and technology providers to recognize excellence in upstream, downstream, gas, power, local content, technology, and corporate leadership. According to African Press Organization, the African Service Provider of the Year category features nominees such as GeoEnergy Group, recognized for advancing digital transformation through the Egypt Upstream Gateway and strengthening local technical expertise across Africa. Other nominees include One Titanium, KAESO, SONI LS, and NIPEX, all contributing to various facets of the energy sector. The International Service Provider of the Year nominees include NOV, Geoex MCG, Africa Global Logistics, Technip Energies, SBM Offshore, and SLB, each acknowledged for their significant contributions to major energy developments across Africa. In the Local Content Champion categories, African companies like Seplat Energy and Renaissance Africa Energy are recognized for their commitment to local talent and participation, while international companies such as TotalEnergies Uganda and Africa Global Logistics are credited for local workforce development and supplier participation. The EandP Leader of the Year highlights companies like Shell and Murphy Oil for their discoveries in Namibia and Côte d'Ivoire, among others, and the transformative efforts of the Dangote Refinery and Cabinda Oil Refinery in the refining sector. The Deal of the Year showcases significant transactions, including Trafigura's $1 billion oil prepayment agreement w ith the Republic of Gabon and Heirs Energies' acquisition of a stake in Seplat Energy. CSR Project of the Year nominees such as Mozambique LNG and the Oando Foundation are recognized for their contributions to flood recovery and education, respectively. The Gas Monetization Award includes nominees like Levene Energies and Congo LNG for their advancements in gas commercialization and LNG production. For the Technology Innovator category, TotalEnergies and SOLA Group lead the nominations with their respective digital and hybrid energy projects. Lastly, the Power Africa Developer category celebrates companies like TotalEnergies and Siemens Energy for their roles in renewable energy and infrastructure development. The AEW 2026 Awards aim to highlight the strides made in Africa's energy sector, acknowledging efforts across various domains that contribute to the continent's economic growth and energy innovation.
