Minister of Communication Visits Regional Center for Performing Arts in Africa

Guiriko: The Minister of Communication, Pingdwend© Gilbert Ou©draogo, led a delegation on a visit to the Regional Center for Performing Arts in Africa (CERAV) on Thursday, August 7, 2025, to support staff and increase the institution's visibility.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit underscores the minister's commitment to recognizing and promoting CERAV's contributions to performing arts across Africa. CERAV is known for hosting interns from prestigious universities throughout the continent, highlighting its expanding influence.

During his visit, Minister Ou©draogo emphasized the importance of the center's work and the expectations placed upon it. "This is not an end in itself, and I know you are aware of that. It is not about improving your working conditions simply because it is CERAV Africa. It is because there are a lot of expectations placed on you. Our visit is also to give you the visibility that you still lack. You are doing very valuable work," he stated.

He acknowledged the significance of the center attracting students from leading African academic institutions, as it reflects the continent's interest in CERAV's activities. The minister also encouraged staff to remain united and supportive of their general delegate, stating that unity leads to greater productivity and strength.

CERAV's General Delegate, Mr. Hermann Pouya, expressed his gratitude for the minister's visit. He appreciated the encouragement and vowed to continue the center's efforts with renewed vigor. "We will redouble our efforts and begin the last quarter of the year with great enthusiasm," he assured.

This visit is part of a broader initiative by the minister to engage with various structures under his supervision, aiming to understand their challenges and motivate those involved in the communication and culture sector.
