CS Mbadi Pledges Equitable Resource Distribution Across Kenya

Bangali: The National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has reiterated the government's commitment to initiating development projects in marginalized areas and bringing equity to the sharing of national resources. Mbadi emphasized that the Kenya Kwanza government would traverse the country to listen to the people and initiate development projects in areas that had been neglected by previous administrations.

According to Kenya News Agency, Mbadi was speaking during a working tour in Bangali Sub County in Tana River. He highlighted that all Kenyans contribute to the national coffers through taxes and are thus entitled to development projects. He dismissed the notion of shareholding talks within the government, asserting that every Kenyan is a shareholder through birth and tax contributions.

Mbadi expressed regret over the persistent water scarcity issues faced by communities in parts of Tana River, where residents and their livestock are forced to share a small dam, over 60 years after independence. He criticized the inequality where some areas enjoy modern amenities such as electricity, paved roads, and piped water, while others endure hardships such as walking long distances for basic necessities like water.

To address these disparities, Mbadi promised to allocate funds in the next supplementary budget for a water project in the affected area. This initiative aims to alleviate the water scarcity issues faced by the local populace.

Bura MP Yakub Adow, who hosted the CS, expressed optimism that the government would intervene to address the challenges his constituents are facing.
