Ecumenical Prayer in Tenkodogo Unites Religious Leaders for Peace and Cohesion

Boulgou: Catholics, Protestants, Muslims, and traditionalists gathered Saturday in Tenkodogo for a significant ecumenical prayer focused on peace, social cohesion, and unity. This event was initiated by the Movement For My Homeland, I Commit, with support from His Majesty Naaba Guigmpole, Dima of Zoungrantenga and King of Tenkodogo, and brought together religious leaders, administrative and customary authorities, as well as people from various backgrounds.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Father Alexis Trawina, vicar at the cathedral parish of Tenkodogo, expressed appreciation for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of unity despite religious differences. He described the gathering as a testament to the shared purpose of living harmoniously as children of the same Father.

His Majesty Naaba Guigmpole, Dima of Zoungrantenga, highlighted the day as one of spiritual communion without distinction. He encouraged the organizers to spread the message of tolerance, forgiveness, and peace beyond the event.

The High Commissioner of Koulpelogo, Saidou Ouedraogo, representing the Governor of the Nakambe region, emphasized that the prayers aimed to support the nation's fighting forces, acknowledging their continuous efforts for national security. He called for unity alongside these forces.

Moustapha Soulli, president of the Movement For My Homeland, I Commit, voiced his support for President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, and reiterated the communities' commitment to peace and social cohesion, acknowledging the sacrifices made by soldiers.

The ecumenical prayer conveyed a strong message that unity is essential for overcoming the challenges faced by Burkina Faso, as religious and ethnic differences are not recognized by the enemy.

Speakers at the event praised the initiative and expressed hopes for similar gatherings across different localities in the country, reinforcing that religious diversity is a foundation for building a peaceful, just, and fraternal Burkina Faso.
