FDCT and Swiss Cooperation Launch 2025 Joint Call for Projects in Ouagadougou

Ouagadougou: The Cultural and Tourism Development Fund (FDCT) held an informative session in Ouagadougou for cultural and tourism stakeholders in the Central region. The session focused on the financing criteria and tools available as part of the joint 2025 FDCT-Swiss Cooperation call for projects.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Director General of the FDCT, Fiohan Caryne Traor©/B©ni, explained that the meeting was designed to present the guidelines, eligibility criteria, and access conditions for submitting projects. The initiative is part of Phase 1 of the Cultural Initiatives Development Support Program (PADIC), a partnership between Burkina Faso and the Swiss Cooperation with a total budget of 1,270,000 CFA francs encompassing both grants and credit.

Ms. Traor© outlined the requirements for financing, stating that promoters must be legally recognized entities such as companies, associations, cooperatives, or economic interest groups that are current with their tax, cultural, and tourism obligations. Projects seeking loans must be profitable and capable of generating resources to ensure repayment, while grants are aimed at initiatives with significant social impact, promoting social cohesion, peace, and economic growth in the cultural and tourism sectors.

Inoussa Samandoulougou, representing potential beneficiaries, expressed appreciation for the opportunity, emphasizing the importance of the funds for a sector challenged by insecurity and promising rigorous use of the resources.
