Fire Brought Under Control at Radio Alliance Chr©tienne in Bobo-Dioulasso

Bobo-dioulasso: A fire broke out this Tuesday, August 5, 2025, around 1 p.m., in the small house housing the batteries of the Radio Alliance Chr©tienne de Bobo-Dioulasso, without causing any injuries, AIB noted.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the on-duty host was in the process of synchronizing the newspaper when children, alerted by smoke, came to report a fire outside. He immediately went outside to see the fire that had started in the battery shelter powering the station.

Firefighters, quickly alerted, responded promptly and were able to bring the fire under control before it spread to other facilities. The damage was limited to the area containing the lithium batteries and the cable leading to the antenna. No other equipment, including computers, the mixing desk, microphones, and the transmitter, was affected.

Radio Alliance Chr©tienne was able to preserve most of its technical equipment, and no human losses were recorded.

The National Police and SONABEL agents attended the scene to conduct the usual investigations. At this stage, the exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined, although initial suspicions point to lithium batteries.

The radio presenters and managers expressed their gratitude to the firefighters for their swift response, which prevented the worst.
