Gouri Villagers Contribute 500,000 CFA Francs to Support Defense Forces

Nayala: Residents of the village of Gouri, in the rural commune of Kougny, handed over the sum of 500,000 CFA francs to the High Commissioner of Nayala province on Thursday, as support for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation was made by representatives of the villagers, Zon Abdoul Karim and Kon© Mamadou. This gesture was made in the presence of the president of the special delegation (PDS) of Kougny, of the PDS of Toma, Zakaria Sawadogo, the commander of the territorial brigade of the gendarmerie of Toma, Sawadogo Madi, and the provincial director of the National Police, Ganam Abdoul Aziz.

Speaking, one of the donors, Zon Abdoul Karim, explained that this gesture is a collective contribution from the people of Gouri to thank and encourage the fighting forces. "We have come together to find what we have and to submit to our authorities our contribution to securing the territory," he declared, praising the daily efforts of the forces engaged in the fight against insecurity.

Upon receiving the donation, the High Commissioner of Nayala, Honor© Fr©d©ric Par©, expressed his gratitude while thanking the people of Goury for this gesture. "This gesture is valuable in galvanizing our troops on the ground," he said. He urged the people of Gouri to maintain and strengthen collaboration with the FDS, recalling that the village, which has remained standing despite threats, is an example of resilience.

Mr. Fr©d©ric Par© reassured that operations are continuing to gradually recapture the territory and expressed the hope that at the start of the next school year, the students of Gouri will be able to return to school. "Hand in hand, we will achieve the total reconquest of the territory," he concluded, inviting people to convey this message to the entire community.

With this gesture, the people of Gouri affirm their commitment and solidarity with the fighting forces, thus strengthening the collective momentum for security and peace in Nayala.
