Fada n'gourma: The Evangelical Church Development Office (ODE) distributed food supplies to 100 internally displaced person (IDP) households and 43 host households in Fada N'Gourma on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. The aid delivery, valued at 20 million CFA francs, was overseen by Silas Nacanabo, the High Commissioner of the Gourma province, and attended by administrative authorities, technical services, and community leaders.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the food donation included rice, corn, oil, sugar, salt, and fortified flour. This initiative is part of ODE's efforts to support populations affected by the ongoing security and humanitarian crisis in the region.
Alain Bako, the executive director of ODE, highlighted that the organization is committed to assisting vulnerable communities. He stated that the aim of the initiative is to help beneficiaries live with dignity and respect, while also empowering them to create a hopeful future.
Bako expressed optimism that long-term development efforts would emerge to enhance the autonomy of the affected populations, aligning with the Burkinabe people's aspirations for independence and freedom.
Silas Nacanabo, the High Commissioner, praised the efforts of ODE and encouraged the collaboration of all stakeholders, including administrative authorities, technical services, community leaders, and humanitarian partners, to ensure the operation's effective and transparent implementation. He also urged beneficiaries to use the aid responsibly and to share it with others in need, fostering solidarity and social cohesion.
