Kenyans Encouraged to Verify Information and Support Government Initiatives

Kakamega: Western Regional Commissioner Irungu Macharia has called on Kenyans to demonstrate patriotism and trust in the government's ability to fulfill its responsibilities. Speaking at Masinde Muliro University in Kakamega County, Macharia emphasized the government's commitment to development and urged residents to exercise caution against misinformation.

According to Kenya News Agency, Macharia advised Kenyans to verify the credibility of information sources to avoid being misled by misinformation, disinformation, and propaganda. He highlighted the importance of understanding the source of information before forming opinions about the government. He cited the example of the Kazi Mtaani programme, where false information was spread even before its rollout.

The forum aimed to help citizens understand government efforts and track project progress. Macharia stressed the need for collaboration between the government and citizens, asserting that both parties should move in the same direction.
