K©n©dougou Hosts Training for Peaceful Management of Cross-Border Natural Resources

K©n©dougou: Actors trained in the peaceful management of natural resources in cross-border areas. The NGO Care Burkina, in collaboration with the regional directorate in charge of Human Rights in Guriko, organized a training session on the peaceful management of natural resources from Tuesday, August 12 to Wednesday, August 13, 2025, for the benefit of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), technical services involved in rural development, as well as community leaders.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the training on peaceful management of natural resources was held with the aim of promoting peaceful management of natural resources in cross-border areas. The High Commissioner of the K©n©dougou province, Sadou Sakira, welcomed the choice of his province to host this meeting, describing it as a valuable opportunity to strengthen the capacities of local actors.

The project manager at the NGO Care Burkina, Seydou Hi©, expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the training. He noted the enriching discussions and hoped that the knowledge acquired would enable participants to promote peaceful coexistence between different users of natural resources in their communities.

Over two days, participants engaged with modules on concerted management of natural resources, conflict prevention and management, and judicial mechanisms for settling agro-pastoral conflicts. This initiative is part of the "Peaceful Cross-Border Pastoral Mobility and Social Stability (MOPSS)" project, supported technically and financially by Swedish Cooperation.
