On Thursday 26th May, the Minister for Culture and Craft Promotion, Rufino Ndong Esono Nchama, received the Ambassador from the Republic of Cuba to Equatorial Guinea in his official office.
Accompanied by the Adviser and Head of Business from the diplomatic mission on Equatoguinean soil, Grisel Alina Aldama Innis, the Cuban plenipotentiary, went to the ministerial department to examine possible cultural and artistic cooperation between the two republics.
This was the first meeting between the two, with the aim of setting up a cultural link and boosting Equatoguinean participation in Cuban events which may be of common interest.
The minister declared that the bilateral agreements between Cuba and Equatorial Guinea go back various decades, above all in the sectors of education and health. For that reason, the Ministry for Culture wishes to develop closer ties with the embassy.
According to Isasi Herrera: this visit is in response to a previous meeting held with the Ministry for Culture and Craft Promotion, and within this context we spoke about bilateral interests in the development of cultural activities such as heritage, the training of human resources, and the possibility of the exchange of artistic talent between our respective countries”.
The meeting was attended by the Director General for Culture, Andres Perfecto Alo, and the Director General for Libraries, Museums, Books and Historical Collections, Estrella Milagrosa Eteo Oposi.
