Mouhoun: The President of the special delegation of the commune of Kona, Ali Sanou, chaired a meeting of the Communal Consultation Framework dedicated to securing rural land, a major issue for the inclusive development of the commune.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting of the Municipal Consultation Framework brought together technical services, social and financial partners, including Endeavour Mining and the Land At Scale project. The discussions focused mainly on the issue of guaranteeing equitable access to land for women and young people.
The PDS highlighted the establishment of land management structures such as the Village Land Conciliation Units (CFV) and the Communal Village Land Conciliation Units (CCFV). He noted that these units contribute to reducing conflicts among farmers and other community stakeholders. He emphasized that these measures ensure social cohesion and peace, which are essential for communal development.
Mr. Sanou expressed hope that stakeholders would fully embrace their roles to enable the conciliation units to effectively fulfill their missions. This includes preventing and managing land conflicts and supporting the population through awareness initiatives.
The representative of the Land At Scale project, Drissa Ye, presented the initiatives implemented, such as the creation of CFV and CCFV, intended to prevent and resolve land-related conflicts. Speaking on behalf of the project, the representative reaffirmed the organization's commitment to supporting Kona in its efforts to secure rural land.
The municipal consultation framework serves as a central mechanism for coordinating and monitoring development initiatives in the municipality. By bringing together local authorities, technical services, community representatives, and partners, the framework harmonizes the actions of different actors. It also aims to prevent and resolve conflicts, ensure equitable access to resources, and promote social cohesion and sustainable development in the municipality.
