Boulgou: The Union of Traders and Related Workers of Tenkodogo (UCAT) organized, on Saturday, August 23, 2025 in Tenkodogo, a day of tribute, recognition, and thanks in honor of the economic actors of the Nakamb© region. The ceremony was presided over by the governor of the region, Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, and under the patronage of the Director General of the Postal Bank of Burkina Faso, Inoussa Boundaon©.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the economic actors of the Nakamb© region were honored this Saturday, August 23, 2025 in Tenkodogo by the Union of Traders and Similar Workers of Tenkodogo (UCAT). The region's governor, Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, praised the resilience and dynamism of traders in a context marked by numerous challenges. He recalled that traders, entrepreneurs, and artisans constitute a vital force in the local and national economy. Colonel Lamizana also paid tribute to the former officials of the Centre-East Chamber of Commerce and Industry, now known as the Nakamb© Patronage, for laying solid foundations for the benefit of current generations. He congratulated the current office, headed by Prince Akim Minoungou, for its foresight and proximity to the actors on the ground.
The sponsor, the general director of the Postal Bank of Burkina Faso, Inoussa Boundaon©, expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in his institution. He recalled that the Postal Bank, supported by the national post office network, works to bring financial services closer to the population, particularly to traders, artisans, farmers, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Mr. Boundaon© invited the economic actors of Nakamb© to unite to build a strong, prosperous, and inclusive region.
For his part, the president of the Union of Traders and Related Workers of Tenkodogo (UCAT), Alaji Sana Kabiro, indicated that this day aims to strengthen cohesion between traders and economic actors in the region. According to him, this initiative, long put on hold, allows for paying tribute to the elderly and strengthening the bonds of solidarity. Mr. Kabiro called for unity, collaboration, and solidarity to meet current challenges and contribute to the development of the country. He praised the efforts of the organizing committee, merchants, partners, and alumni who worked to make the event a success, before expressing his gratitude to the sponsors and personalities who supported this first edition despite the difficulties.
The day was punctuated by expressions of gratitude and calls for solidarity from the daughters and sons of Nakamb©. The administrative authorities and economic partners present reaffirmed their commitment to supporting traders in their initiatives, in order to make trade a real lever for development and social cohesion in the region.
