Namentenga Health District Celebrates Zero Mortality from Infectious Diseases

Namentenga: The High Commissioner of Namentenga Province, Adama Conseiga, presided over the first ordinary session of the Health District Health Council (CSD) in Boulsa. During this session, members of the health district congratulated the Boulsa Health District for its commendable performance.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Boulsa Health District, located in the Namentenga Province (Kuils©), recorded zero deaths from meningitis, measles, febrile jaundice, severe malaria, and dengue compared to the same period last year. The council members praised the district's staff and partners for their contributions to achieving these results.

Council members encouraged health workers to maintain their efforts to further improve the health status of the population. Recommendations were made for the implementation of secondary birth registration centers, verification of the effective use of long-lasting insecticide-treated mosquito nets (LLINs), revitalization of community-based health workers (CBHAs), and continued awareness-raising activities.

Dr. Emile Compaor©, Chief Medical Officer of Boulsa Health District, urged health workers to remain vigilant against endangered diseases, warning that they could resurface if vigilance wanes. Eric Ki¨ma, from the neighboring Tougouri health district, also provided updates on interventions in his area.

High Commissioner Adama Conseiga expressed gratitude to the Burkinabe Red Cross for facilitating the session. He offered well wishes to the CSD and hoped for peace and security in Namentenga Province. Participants were also informed about various upcoming events, including the patriotic immersion for new high school graduates, the reopening of the CSPS "Eau vive" in Boulsa, the regional week of culture in Kaya, and the weekly "Sport for all" event.
