Kitur stated, “The Sh60 million bursary I have disbursed today is a maximum. My wish is to ensure every student gets an opportunity to study. I am standing before you today because of education.”
Keiyo North MP Adams Kipsanai encouraged students to take full advantage of the bursary and excel academically, noting that the NG-CDF is a government investment aimed at preparing the youth for future national development. Kipsanai advised students to maintain high personal discipline and respect their teachers, as these virtues are crucial for academic and career success.
Kipsanai added, “Do not take the launch of this bursary for granted. As students, put your education first. Do not disobey your teachers; your teachers are your parent and they mean good for you.”
Kitutu Chache North MP Japhet Nyakundi echoed the sentiments, emphasizing that the NG-CDF is intended for the betterment of constituency residents, particularly in the education sector. He remarked, “The NG-CDF is a fund for the residents. We are here today to launch this bursary for our students in secondary schools and tertiary institutions.”
Residents expressed a desire for future inclusion of junior school learners in the NG-CDF bursary, highlighting that some junior school students have dropped out due to lack of school fees.
According to Nandi Hills Constituency office subcommittee chair Edna Cherubet, all students in Form Three and Four in day schools will receive the bursary, while only 15 students per sub-location in Form Two and boarding schools will be funded, with each receiving a flat rate of sh5000 per student.
