Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, recently welcomed a delegation from Niger, led by the Nigerien Minister of Energy. The delegation conveyed a message from the Nigerien President, Army General Abdourahamane Tiani, regarding a significant energy initiative.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Nigerien Minister of Energy, Professor Haoua Amadou, expressed the honor of discussing the Salkadamna coal complex project with Captain Traor©. This initiative is a part of a broader vision aimed at enhancing cooperation among the Sahel states.

Professor Amadou highlighted that the project's primary goal is to establish energy sovereignty for the Confederation of Sahel States and contribute to sustainable energy independence across the region. The Nigerien Minister emphasized the importance of Burkina Faso's participation in elevating the project to a regional scale, demonstrating its significance for the entire Sahel region.
