Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, recently held a meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Niger. The delegation, led by Niger's Minister of Energy, delivered a message from the Nigerien President, Army General Abdourahamane Tiani, to Captain Traor©.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Professor Haoua Amadou, Niger's Minister of Energy, expressed the purpose of their visit was to discuss the Salkadamna coal complex project. This project aims to bolster cooperation among Sahel states and is a crucial step towards achieving energy sovereignty within the Confederation of Sahel States.
Professor Amadou highlighted that the project's objective is to lay the groundwork for sustainable energy independence in the region. She emphasized that, under General Tiani's instructions, Niger is seeking Burkina Faso's participation to elevate the project to a regional level, demonstrating to partners that it is a collaborative effort benefiting the entire Sahel region.
