The Equatoguinean presidential couple, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and the First Lady of the Nation, Constancia Mangue de Obiang, are in the country from the afternoon of May 4, after concluding satisfactorily the ninth State visit to the People’s Republic of China, a visit that has served to update the relations of friendship and cooperation between the governments of Beijing and Malabo.
With the motive of the return of the Head of State and Government to the country, some of the authorities that represent the official institutions that make up the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, those of the province of Bioko Norte and those of the district of Malabo, went on the afternoon of Monday, May 4, to the presidential pavilion of the airport of the capital to welcome H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and the First Lady.
In declarations before the press, President Obiang has said that this ninth State visit at the invitation of his counterpart, H.E. Xi Jinping, has served to update the relations of friendship and cooperation that since 1970 unite China with the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, traditional relations that, as he said, have not had any interruption since their establishment: “We have been fortunate this time, since the Asian country considers us an ally in Africa. They have again reinforced the relations of friendship and the cooperation has been increased.”
In this visit, the Republic of China has made available an economic support to the Equatoguinean Government, with the objective of continuing with the develop marked by the Horizon 2020, aid that has been highly valued by the Head of State, during his declarations before the communications media, by stating that the current increase of economic development of the country is due to public and private support of the Asian country.
H.E. the President of the Republic has highlighted also the homage of which he has been the subject by the Government of Beijing, which granted him the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the School of Diplomacy, as well as the constructive dialogue that he held with the Chinese Head of State on the perspectives of the relations of the two countries.
During the stay of the official delegation in the Asian country, an investment forum was also organized in the city of Dalian, in which the opportunities that the Republic of Equatorial Guinea for businessmen were presented to the Asian companies, a forum that had a very positive impact.
According to the Equatorial Guinean Head of State and of Government, “it has been a successful trip that has had very high political acceptance. The people of Equatorial Guinea should be sure of the relations that are maintained with the friend country, the People’s Republic of China.”
