Saaba High School Students Donate Cement and Materials to Faso Mªbo Initiative

Ouagadougou: The immersed students of the municipal high school of Saaba marked their presence with an act of patriotism by donating half a ton of cement, 15 packets of water, packets of coffee and tea, 5 shovels, 10 trowels, and 10 pairs of gloves to the presidential initiative Faso Mªbo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, before making this donation, the students visited the Thomas Sankara memorial. This memorial is the resting place of Captain Thomas Sankara and his twelve companions, who were assassinated on October 15, 1987. During their visit, the students explored Sankara's office and revisited his legacy of patriotism, solidarity, and civic-mindedness.

Bama Esae Yitien, the delegate in charge of the boys, expressed that the support for the Faso Mªbo initiative reflects the students' desire to contribute to the prosperity of Burkina Faso. Yitien emphasized the importance of building the nation, stating, "This is the land our parents left us. For it to develop, we, the children of this country, must rise up to build it."

Mambone Zeinab, the delegate in charge of girls, highlighted the motivation behind their gesture as stemming from an unconditional love for their nation and a spirit of patriotism. She urged Burkinabe youth to mobilize in support of Faso Mªbo, an initiative spearheaded by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore.

After the symbolic handover of materials, the students engaged in construction work, including the manufacture and laying of paving stones, to demonstrate their commitment to contributing tangibly to national development.
